3D Models & Instruction sheets for the M1A2 U.S. Abrams Tank

About this page

These are my 3D models for accessories and parts for the M1A2 Abrams tank, which includes information and instructions.  I generate 3D models which I have uploaded to Shapeways.com for printing.  My store on Shapeways is "Lew's Model Boats."  Please visit my store there (fast link: Lew's Model Boats on Shapeways).  Also, I can create 3D models for you to have printed on Shapeways or anywhere, even if you have your own 3D printer.  Contact me if you have any 3D printing questions or need 3D Model files created.

To the right you can see just a few of the various 3D parts I have made for myself.  Here are parts I have made for my boats.  By making my own parts I can improve the designs to make them as user friendly as well as experimenting with the limits of the printing machines so have have as much detail as possible.  Quality and accuracy are important goals for me.  Lew

This is the modrn type U.S. plastic "fuel can" that was derived from the German cans during WWII.  The model follows the Military specification with a few minol exceptions that are needed to meet the specifications of 3D printing.  It has the proper markings (raised and lowered, per the specification.  The cans should be painted either O.D. (olive drab), or desert tan.

3D Model for this can is hollow (to save on final cost to the buyer) so it has a flush cap to be cemented to the bottom by the buyer.  You also have the option to fill the can with epoxy or other filler.

Scale: 1/16  (other larger scales may be availaible - see the Shapeways product page for this item).  Smaller scales not possible due to 3D printing limits.
